Welcome To ATP Textures!

Hello, and welcome!

I thought I would start a little blog page so that I could share with you some of my tips and tricks, how to's and little things I have been working on!

To introduce myself!

I am a middle aged, frumpy lady ( LOL! ) with a husband, two absolutely amazing ( well, to me they are ) children, two dogs, ( a ridgeback called Dexter & a staffy called Holly ) two rescue cats ( Miss Kiki and Ash ) and my 3 darling chickens, ( who I refer to as my girls! ) Do I have a bit of a mad house to live in? Absolutely!! But we are happy, warm, contented and loving life in the Adelaide hills of South Australia!

So...

 And that's about it for the family.

I am a fully trained opera singer, and spent around 20 years of my life pursuing the dream. But what I realised is, the opera world is a hard place to crack, and no matter how good you are or how hard you work, unless you have the right connections and the funds, you are going to be poor for the rest of your life.  Scrabbling after the next show that may, or may not, pay you in peanuts. I have always worked a normal job to support my singing, and it got to the point that I found the drain on my soul and body too much to bare. So I quit.

That year I met the love of my life, my husband. He is absolutely awesome and my very best friend. We have had 17 years of marriage together and hopefully, many more to come. New chapters sometime begin when we have closed a door on something we thought would be a lifetimes goal. Life works in mysterious ways!

Unfortunately, what I didn't realise, when I stopped all the practicing, rehearsing and learning that comes with the classical realm of music, was how bored my brain got! And I am not the sort of person that likes to have nothing to do! It drives me crazy!

So I bought a camera. Yep. And that is where it all began! I started up my business All Things Precious Photography, and from there, further down the track, ATP Textures was born.

I absolutely love the learning you get from photography. But, even more, I LOVE creating in photoshop! And I found, after a while, taking photos is not where my heart lies. It is in creating things for photographers to use! After all the competition in the operatic realm, I wasn't interested in competing with my fellow photographers too! So I decided, this is the perfect way to express myself, create in abundance, help others and make some amazing, new, like minded friends along the way!
How awesome is that!

So my blog is for helping you with the learning, adding and using my overlays and textures. I often get asked how to add textures etc, and I needed a platform to share the tips and trick on!
And to help my fellow Etsy customers, with how to download products and navigate the platform.

So, there you have it. Me and ATP in a nutshell!
